The Nepali mountain I didn't see

We were in Nepal in January and spent a few days in Pokhara. Vince was keen for me to see the sun rise from a particular spot. We rose early and caught a taxi which went up and up and up – then up some more. We then got out and walked further up the mountain. We passed one house where the woman was very insistent that we should go onto her rooftop to watch the sunrise.
However, Vince kept walking to the next house from where he’d taken photos in a previous year. The people brought us chairs and coffee. It was very cold and there was a lot of fog and cloud. Just for a moment, we caught just the quickest glimpse of a mountain top but then the cloud obscured the view again.
Once the sun was fully up, we watched the woman weaving a scarf then caught our taxi back to our hotel. It was unfortunate that we didn’t see the mountains but, as they say, them’s the breaks.
The photo is what Vince saw and what he was hoping I’d see. The mountain is called ‘Fishtail’ and is actually two peaks, one behind the other.

@JudyEv We were up at 3 and after a rough ride could not see it as clouds hid it from us.

Majestic view, indeed. We live close to the Carpathian mountains, which I guess are not this high.

@JudyEv They are not visible from our town, only if I get on the top of the hill. However, they are not that far, so I was many times in the part of the Carpathians which are close to me.

The mountains are right in your face there - when you can see them.

It was bitterly cold but worth it to be so high up the mountain.

@judyev A lot of effort to see nothing! My fantasy is to sit on top of a hotel in Yerevan to watch sunrise (or set) over Ararat. Well, I can dream, and the dream is probably prettier than the reality. I could sit there tightly though on my own wrapped up in a blanket and meditate on the story of Noah whose ark is said to have landed on Ararat.

It is nice to be able to look back on happier times, even if it was only a few weeks ago.
