Painting to pass away the time

One of the things I did before was to paint, it was one hobby and talent that although I had sold a couple was something I learned and did just for my personal satisfaction. As my family grew it was one of those pastimes that that I shelved exchanging the time for more profitable ventures considering I had to send 3 of my children to private school. With the lockdown I'm finding time to paint again with materials I bought prior and some leftovers a long time ago. I think its a good way to kill time and add to the other things I do while on quarantine. How about you? How do you plan to spend and kill time besides eating? lol. Had you discovered or rediscovered a part of you now that there's plenty of time? The picture is my painting of an orchid flower in bloom ( oil on canvas) that although I find mediocre my wife insisted that we frame and hang. Thank you very much for reading and have a pleasant day.

Art is undoubtedly the best kind of stress buster. Sadly I'm not good at doing it.

That's great that you now have a little time to pursue a pastime that you obviously have a talent for. I hope you have many happy hours painting.

Thank you, it feels like some long unused file or app on my brain similar to what a computer does that you suddenly remembered and have use for now, good thing it was not deleted

You paint well. What is your usual medium? I do a lot of journaling and cooking these days. I also tutor my kids so I'm quite occupied.

Although I could do any medium but I prefer oil on canvas and pastel on pastel paper. I'm poor when it comes to watercolor, I find white leave out and wet on wet technique rather difficult. I also love to cook from time to time.

That is a beautiful painting. You are talented. I have a lot of things to do to kill the time. The latest one is enjoying painting empty cans for my plants. Gladfully, I donĀ“t have to buy colors as my husband has a lot of them in his atelier.

It's really beautiful and you're very talented. I was learning how to speak Polish during lockdown, it's really hard and I wish I had never started because it is very difficult.

Thank you. Don't give up. Why Polish if you don't mind me asking? Are you of Polish descent?
