Moving house

Today, walking back from the shed, I came across this insect trying to make his way across the gravel. I asked Vince to take a video as he was moving. We’ve seen them before but not often moving along like this one was.
However, I forgot not to talk so you can hear my nasally voice asking where is he going and where did he find all his little sticks. haha These are the sorts of things that intrigue me. And I wonder what he turns into? Nature has so many fascinating tricks up her sleeve, doesn’t she?

I've never seen anything like this. Then it's a caterpillar?

@JudyEv
I see. Whether butterflies or moths they rarely show themselves. One day I was waiting for the bus and a huge praying mantis showed up. I'm going to try and get the pic for you to see.

@oahuwriter I can see it. Thanks for that. Here is a stick insect in a girl's hair.

I'm sure we don't have roos or most other types of marsupials found in Australia plus you do have some of strange as well as scary insects and spider there that I've never heard of but then knowing how people are they may have brought them here due to their exotic nature @JudyEv Well, I've never seen any, thank heavens.

@rebelann Some of it may be due to the fact that Australia is foreign to. However, America is pretty foreign to me too. South America is less well known and I know they have a great many animals that, a few years ago, I had never heard of. Yet South Americans take them for granted. Am I making sense?

It looks like he was either trying to emerge from a cocoon, or finish making one. And yay, this was the first time I've ever heard your voice!

@JudyEv There's nothing wrong with your voice Judy. Most people do not like the sound of their own voices.

Little Miss was quite interested in this video. She is fascinated with nature and often points things out to me when we are out on our walks.

@JudyEv her eye is somewhat sharper than mine. She enjoys our walks and what we can see.

@ElusiveButterfly I think it is great that she is so interested in what she sees on your walks.
