Whenever I get prescription from my doctor I make sure to memorize everything the he said because I can't rely on my his writing.
That's why I'm grateful to secretaries because they write down everything legibly especially with special instructions when it comes to medicines.

That's funny! Many doctors are show-offs. The nickname they have in Germany is 'half-Gods in white'. I was a teacher for 40 years. I wrote much, much more by hand than a physician ever does. My handwriting isn't very good but it's always legible.

Too funny!
People say that it is because back in med school, these future doctors have to write real fast to catch up with their lessons so boom... ugly handwriting!

While most doctors seem to have bad handwriting, my psychiatrist has remarkably good handwriting.

Oh yep, doctors handwriting=bad could you imagine marking their handwritten GAMSAT test? That'd be an absolute pain.
Sometimes when Bones couldn't read his doctors handwriting he would ask me to see if I knew what it said. Most of the time I could because it was just really hard to read cursive.

i think most of them write that way just because that's "how doctors write" and also pretty rude to those who have to read their ugly handwriting later.
+ all they need to write (legibly) are like 2-3 words so i really don't know why writing in such hurry.

I was once told they write that way to protect from forgeries and such. I don't remember if the person who told me was a credible source.

yep, that's what I heard. That's why their number should be on the prescription as well, in case the pharmacist won't understand it, they can call them.directly.
