Since wearing face masks in the public is becoming a trend, I decided to change my avatar. I just wanted to give a campaign against this coronavirus that is affecting our lives big time at present. My avatar will be changed once COVID-19 will be gone.
Do you think that face masks will be a trendy fashion in the future?
Will it be a part of our lives to wear them after this pandemic?

I had heard face masks were worn in Asia before this happened, but who knows if that is true. Maybe it was just China, and only because of their pollution.
When this is over, I want nothing to do with a face mask. It's been so long since normalcy.

I agree with you. China has the biggest problem with air pollution. I heard it was called yellow dust and it affected the other countries because of this. The greatly affected is the big cities in this country, such as Shanghai and Beijing.

@alexjessi I think it is becoming a trend now. I assumed it will be in the future, too.

Good idea! If only virtual face masks would protect us from computer viruses! I think there are some people out there who are already trying to make it trendy - designed to be stylish, cute or funny. As long as this virus is around us, wearing a mask will be necessary ... people just may get used to the idea of wearing masks when sick (just like in other countries which have done this practice from years ago).

It will not only be a fashion; it will help us save money coz we don’t need to brush our teeth everyday; hence our toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss will last months! Our stinky breath will not bother people outside our home. And we don’t puke and get dizzy coz masks shield our noses from body odors of those who shower only once in a blue moon. And of course, it shields us from this Wuhan virus and future novel Chinese viruses. Haha

@louievill I agree. I wondered if I can have my DIY face mask. It could be a good business in the future. Do you think it is feasible?

Here ... they are becoming sort of a fashion statement as people are making them out of attractive pieces of material with all kinds of designs on them. Then, there are the quick masks one can make from socks, bandanas and such without sewing. On YouTube you can see many styles of making masks even men can make.

@GrannyGee I also have seen the socks. I need to buy a new pair of socks before doing this.

@Shavkat I saw that on YouTube too, ha! Yes, you'd be surprised how simple it is to cut the sock just right .. and cut 2 holes ... see what a nice mask you can make in several minutes.

I believe if they are needed for something again in the future then people will dig theirs out if they have them or find something to wear. I think that when this is over with people will not want to remember the masks that had to wear. They would be a reminder if this horrible time we are all going through. That is what I feel.

Facemask has so many uses whether it's trending or not. It could protect a person from inhaling dust particles.

They always are a part of life in Japan. The only difference now is that they are not all white and a lot of them are patterned material because they are homemade. A couple years ago they started making black, grey and pink masks but now there is a lot of variety.
