The helicopter for Oklahoma City television station KFOR are being called heroes for rescuing the life of amputee swimmer David Stokes who was swimming on the North Canadian River on Wednesday afternoon.
Stokes had the misfortune of having his raft explode while he was in the company of his friends at the time of the accident.
Stokes friends called the authorities to ask them to rescue their friend, what happened was that the television helicopter that was piloted by Mason Dunn and his photographer Steve Johnson were in the area looking for a news story when they were told to find Stokes who was swimming in the river struggling to stay afloat.
The helicopter was able to rescue Stokes who was clinging to a branch near a river bank.
Dunn was able to land the helicopter near the river bank, get out of the helicopter and rescue Stokes until the authorities arrived to take Stokes to a local hospital where he is recovering from sunburn, dehydration and exhaustion.
Stokes is thankful for the television helicopter pilot for saving his life since he was on his last ounce of strength keeping his head above the water so that the helicopter pilot could find him when he was flying over the river in an attempt to locate him.

Even though I do not always agree with the media due to their political views, when they assist saving a life, I will give them their respects for doing their jobs.
