I have 4 trash boxes at home for my waste.

Since our government here declared a City Ordinance 123, I ready my Trash box for my garbage such as:
1 trash box is for the waste of my papers.
1 trash box is for the waste of rotten vegetables and other materials.
1 trash box is for the plastic bottles that can be recycle, cans and others for reuse.
1 trash box is for the plastic waste that cannot be recycle.
How about you, how many trash boxes for your waste at home?

my cousin keeps some paper money in a paper bag hanging from the wall. but one day the helper was looking a pouch to carry something, saw the bag and used it. bonus!

Glass, aluminum cans. steel cans, recyclable plastic, PET bottles, non-recyclable stuff, batteries/light bulbs, and burnable trash. And that's a lot easier than just over the border in Tokyo. They have 10 different divisions for trash. And if you put them out in the wrong trash, then you and your neighbors will not be serviced by the city trash collectors any more.

But mine are not all boxes. I use very few canned goods and bottles, so I have hanging mesh bags that let them dry after I have washed them out.

@petatonicsca, Hanging bags are the easiest way to throw the garbage on the garbage truck in time they pick. I separate some dangerous waste, I will put them in an area that no one can be harm, set them aside from the boxes, I will dig a hole and put them there and cover them, it might be a harmful waste so I have to put them in a safety place. We have here 3 trash ( 1 bottles, 1 paper and boxes, 1 rotten food and materials) and the one for plastics is for schedule and we call it yellow bag trash day

In Kagoshima in Kyushu the yellow bag trash day is for volcanic ash that you have swept up from your property.

That is a sure way of being able to recycle your garbage.
How about you, how many trash boxes for your waste at home? One each for wet and dry trash. The dry trash is further segregated if it can be recycled or not.

@vilma143 yes, I'm aware that there are ordinances about garbage segregation and recycling. It isn't strictly implemented though so full segregation and recycling isn't done.

It's a wise way of waste segregation. I also segregate trash; put the biodegradable at our garden or at the vacant lot near us (for composting), then give the recyclables to the waste collectors so they can sell it at the junk shop.

It is nice to follow ordinance. We have only one since we don't have stricter rule and we can still dump them or burn them in the backyard. We are not in the city.

Normally we have 2 trash boxes. Red for non bio degradable items and Green for bio degradable items.

Wow, that's a lot of recycle bins. I only have one for plastic, cans, and other recycle items. The recycling center sorts them for us into the proper bins. The other garbage bin is for non-recycle items.

@Adie04, Your government is not strict. Since our government here declared an ordinance or a law for cleanliness to our environment and every establishment, schools and other places that the public will visit and stay longer, even in the house we practice to follow the said laws.
