No technical glitches today, hooray!
Some of the students came in having learned and practiced the manual alphabet, but two were still a little lost. They had not gone to our school website where I had posted links for them to practice. We practiced "how are you, I am fine/happy/excited" (those were their answers) without talking. The main lesson today was names for family members, father, mother, sister, brother, cousin. We asked about each other's families. Then we learned places such as school, home, park, church, zoo.
Some of the kids really remember well and others have to have me repeat many times. I gave them the website where they can practice and learn more. Some of them ask me for a lot of vocabulary so I figure they are motivated enough to learn it with their own research.
Do you enjoy learning languages?

@fahmita_ When I first came to Japan, I listened to all the children's programs on TV. I figured that if I started in a similar way to Japanese children, I would pick up the language in a natural way.

Ganbatte! (for those who don't know Japanese, that's an encouraging comment we don't have in English, saying something like "Good luck, keep working hard at that")
