Why do people like to connect an event that tends to harm many people with conspiracy theories? Is this theory still valid in the current information age?

The problem with the 'information age' is that anyone can share any information without it necessarily being accurate or correct. Some people will believe anything they read or hear (whether on the internet, from a friend, on paper or anywhere else). It is also easy to misinterpret or misunderstand information or for 'Chinese whispers' - even when correct information is shared, it is passed on with slight differences each time so that it ends up completely different. There are some conspiracy theories that are based in truth or that have an understandable origin. Some are merely because people are idiots. There is also the problem of having too much information. This means that people can easily get mixed up. Then, of course, there is information that was generally accepted as correct but has been discovered to be incorrect or has changed. Some people will not accept such changes or the possibility that what they were taught was wrong.

When people no longer trust the government or certain government agency they starting to develop their own theory. Some are interesting and have enough reasoning grounds, but most are just lies.

The best thing is to take the responsibility for causing this pandemic.

It is more common in the computer age because news spread faster, but it happened also in the past.
