A Better Day

Good morning everyone! Today is a better start than this time yesterday. My, what a mess we had. It wasn't completely taken care of until almost 11am. It took the maintenance man 30 minutes to get to us, so we tried to clean up the best we could. My brother and I were able to get up quite a bit of the water, but we had to use all of our towels in the process. There was about an inch of water in the hall and it had traveled to a closet and bathroom and almost into the kitchen.
The maintenance man told my brother that the resident who lived below us had called hims because water was coming from our apartment down to hers. I felt so bad for her. We are all set now with a new hot water heater. It's bigger than the one we had before. My brother was tired after being woken up so early that he took a nap before he started working in his office. I fell asleep in my recliner a couple of times. It's so comfortable and I can move it to where I am almost lying back completely. Big mistake! It makes it a lot easier to fall asleep
I found out yesterday that FedEx lost my impressions from the dentist, so I have to go back again Thursday and have it done all over again. Yuck! I was hoping never to have to do that again. After the phone call from the dentist, I had to ask my brother if he was sure it wasn't Friday the 13th.
Nothing much going on today except house cleaning. It's supposed to be another hot and humid day, so I will be staying inside. I usually enjoy my first cup of coffee out on the balcony early each morning but it's too hot for that today. How's your weekend so far?

Good morning.
I wondered how your day was going yesterday after that soggy start.
I am glad that you have everything cleaned up and a new heater in place now.
I think that we all go thru that at least once in our lifetimes.
We are going to go to see our son in a little while.
Its almost time to get ready to go.
Have a great Saturday, I'll catch up a little later on here.

I was wondering how things went yesterday. When the apartment above the one of my mom had a flooding she had a lot of damages in her apartment. It is a serious problem for sure.
I cannot believe that FedEx lost your impressions, they used to have a good service in the past.
I hope that today you are going to have a more relaxed day.

I am hoping that the resident who lives below us didn't have a lot of damage. It would be a big mess if it got between the walls and it caused mold.
I don't know what happened with FedEx. I really hate to have to go and have that nasty stuff put in my mouth again but what can you do?

@piyushbhatia1 Yes, that is true. I just worry about what will happen before then.

Oh wow, you really had rough one! Sadly you can never really calculate when a small disaster like that will happen. I am sure that your neighbor was not happy, but what can you do. It wasn't intentionally done to annoy her.
I hate having impressions done. Gags me so badly. Have had to have them done for partial plates. Will probably need to have them done again at some point. Really not looking forward to having it done.

@simone10 oh I had forgotten about the crap it leaves behind. You can get it all of it out for such a long time. I chew a piece of peppermint gum to get the nasty taste out.

@ElusiveButterfly When I went Thursday, the tech had to do the impressions twice because the first one didn't do right.

That's true, you can't know when something like that will happen. I can understand if she was upset because I probably would be too but no upset at the person but the situation. I don't know about her as no one said anything.
So you understand why I am dreading this? It makes me want to gag too. It tastes nasty and it takes forever to get it all out of your mouth.

It really is frustrating that I have to go back for impressions again. That stuff is nasty and makes me want to gag.
It didn't technically blow up but water was pouring out, and we had an inch or two of water in our hall, bathroom and it was heading to the kitchen. I'm glad I woke up when I did.

I didn't have a restful day the next day as I had to break down my big aquarium. I had to take everything out and clean it, empty the water out completely and clean the glass walls, then fill it back up again. It took me all day because I had to rest some because of my back. But, it was all worth it because it is crystal clean now.

@DianneN Yes, it's over and I hope I don't have to do that again. I don't mind the normal maintenance but I had algae and it has taken a while to get rid of it. I don't like having to break the whole aquarium down like I did. Now, all I have to do is decorating which is fun for me.

It’s going to be very hot and muggy here. I’m not sure what all I’ll do today. I’m doing a load of clothes now.
