Ironing early in the morning

I had a pile of clothes to iron, today I woke up a little earlier to do that. In the summer it is a painful job to do, only early in the morning it is bearable. It is a house chore that I would happily give to someone else to do. My mom used to have a lady to iron her clothes, often that lady ironed my clothes too but now with the virus she no longer works. So this morning I also gave my mom a help with her clothes. I spent almost 2 hours ironing Now I am going to do something for lunch, it will be a salad and I will do enough for dinner too. Do you like to iron? How do you do that on summer?

Actually, I don't mind ironing and find it relaxing. I iron in my laundry room where it's extra cool.

@nela13 Sorry about the pain you're having. It wouldn't be pleasant to iron in the kind of heat you are having.

@DianneN Despite I don't like ironing, I don't mind do it in the winter but this summer everything is bad for ironing, it is the hot that it is unbearable and my shoulder.

I used to like it but lately I have a pain on my shoulder and when I iron it hurts even more, I think it is the movement. And now with the hit weather it isn't the pleasant thing to do.

I hardly ever iron if I can help it, but when we started staying home I set up the ironing board in my living/dining/kitchen room and ironed handkerchiefs as I was learning how to make folded masks with them. Now that we can buy reusable masks I no longer need to do it and my ironing board is a useful table to put things on. Right now it has a loaf of bread, a roll of tape, a bottle of air freshener, two magazines and my iPad on it.

My ironing board is an extra place for a cat to sit.

Useful space or it's an extra surface to collect clutter

It's been a long time since I had ironed my clothes. What I usually do is to hang my pants in the dresser and no more ironing, waheehee.

I do that with some clothes too, if we are careful when we hang the clothes they could be in a perfect shape to wear without ironing it.

@nela13 It probably is nice to do in winter, when the heat of the iron helps warm things up. I agree that it can be painful in the summer.
