Million dollars

Yesterday I had a discussion with one of my friend. The topic was What would we do for earning one million dollar. Her answer puzzled me . She said, she would do anything to get that amount of money, except commiting a crime.First I agreed with her, but then I started to doubt.I mean, we all need money and nowadays financial stability is a dream of every person in this world. But I think there is a moral limit of our actions, which is defined by our conscience, our dignity. Perhaps I would jump with parachute or do some heavy cleaning work, but I wouldn`t do anything, which involve shame or cheating, or whatever posing risks for my health or contradicting my principles. What about you? What would you do for million dollars?

As I have aged money has become less important to me. We all need some and it's nice to be financially comfortable but I don't need a million dollars so there is not much I would do to get it.

@Julie555 It would be nice to have enough to buy what I want and not worry about it but I would have to have someone to share it with.

Indeed. Money brings certain comfort to your life. But it is not the key for happiness

I would only do something legal and honest. Hard work and an education make earning one million dollars very easy.

@Julie555 Exactly! Too many people expect things to be handed to them.

@DianneN My generation definitely wants and demands everything fast, looking for easy ways to get wealthy, which can be very misleading and dangerous sometimes

I know a few good people who turned criminals since they can't resist the temptation of quick and dirty cash.

Agree. Money can corrupt people. We are humans and not everyone would resist to such temptation

I guess I would need a specific scenario, but I wouldn't do ANYTHING for a million dollars. 10 years ago, I turned down a gig (I'm a drummer) not because it paid $200/night, but because I would have to play a song or two I didn't like at all (and the rest were decent songs) but also didn't like playing for 1/3 of it, but with a great set-list, including a lot of Steely Dan songs.

This is a good question. I do not know what I will do for a million dollar because I will like to think that the million dollar will indeed be very helpful for me.

That takes a lot of thought. What I would like to do would likely cost more than a million. Something that would make a difference though!!

I think that @myklj999 is right, show me the money and tell me what "I should do" and then I will tell you if I am ready or not to do that for the money.

No. I would not do anything to get them. I would do something which is ethical and within my powers. Hard work within the limits of my body permitting, I don't mind. There were so many situations in my life when I refused the money offered because it was not ethical.

I would do heavy cleaning. Or heavy lifting. I would NOT sleep with Kim Kardashian. I WOULD write a song for Justin Bieber. I'll have to think of other ideas.
