One Bad Apple

There is a saying, common among the fruiterers' and greengrocers' communities, that "all it takes is one bad apple...". The implication is that, in a box or barrel of good fruit, if one of the fruits is bad, it will turn the others bad too, over time, effectively eroding any trust in the contents of the barrel. Such seems to be true also of a country's government, and the policies and decisions it makes - the apple in this pic is intended to show one of the special advisers to the current Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, a certain Dominic Cummings. If ever there was a Teflon trickster, he is up there as one of the trickier ones. His influence is rubbing off on, or perhaps his advice is targeted at, many in the UK Government at this time. Public confidence is slowly waning, eroding, rotting...

I actually never Knew prime minister of uk had control over Ireland and Scotland I mean I saw brave heart but thought you were all separate now. Knew of European union but baffles me as is that true because also heard other complications as to a point both countries have their own leaders but answers to the UK. Anyone who laughs at me does not know either.

@xFiacre , its all confusing was watching the crown and like what they have Ireland and then was talking to a Scottish dude about Brexit and he says we are part of the UK in political aspects. You guys whacked. In a nice way. I am just confused how any of you get along with that kind of structure.

@crossbones27 Oh dear. The UK does not include Ireland which is an independent country. Now Northern Ireland is a different matter and it’s best if we don’t go there.

I think public confidence started eroding as soon as the vote for Brexit was counted. (Of course, I was not in that mess, so could be misremembering it, too.) If you figure out a legal way to pluck a bad apple out of the barrel, many of us in the US would LOVE to know the trick of it! *sigh*
