My sister birthday

Today it is my dear sister birthday. She doesn't live in my country but we speak every day through video calls. She lives in Mozambique.
I called her early in the morning, before going to work , her mother in law was already with her and brought her a cake and a lovely summer hat. I am glad she has a good relationship with her husband's family.
At night my father brought a small cake and we sang her "Happy birthday" through video call, she ate her cake and we ate ours. 
It was a way to celebrate "with" her.
She is my only sister and my best friend, I am glad she is coming to Portugal by the end of this month.

It was a way to be "close" to her. She loves Mozambique, it captured her heart, she says Africa has something very special. Her husband was born there.

I know it must be hard that she lives far away. I am sure she appreciated your call and the video and the cake. That is one way to celebrate with someone. Happy belated birthday to her. I am glad you two are so close. So you will see her the end of the month and celebrate in person.

That was a very nice way to celebrate your sister's birthday, given the physical distance between you right now. I'm sure it meant a lot to her. That's so sweet that you are close to her and that she is your best friend.

No, in summer we have only one hour difference but during winter our time zone has a difference of 2 hours.
