A whip aerial - well named

We have a two-way radio in the car and a whip aerial which sits on the bonnet. We’ve used the radio from time to time to get a road train know that it’s safe to pass (some travel faster than we do) or to ask if it’s okay to pass a slower one.
Normally, I never notice the aerial but on one particular gravel road, we hit some severe corrugations which really revealed why the aerial is called a ‘whip’. I took a short video of it.
The photo is of one of the gorges in the area.
Our whip aerial lived up to its name driving over the corrugations between Karajini Eco Centre and Kalamina Gorge.

I'm not sure why some people want to travel faster, even when roads are a little rough. I just allow them to pass! That whip aerial is doing its job well:)

@JudyEv So actually speeding up a bit, makes your traveling smoother and more comfortable.

@kobesbuddy Only slightly. We let the tyres down a little too and that helped.

what a beautiful gorge! dang, y'ave seen so many wonders 'f nature that i confess i'd be a bit green with 'nvy. whilst't the same time much grateful ya chose to share such with's here.
'd to giggle o'er yer 'whip', ya can get that with some'f our paved roads here. highways'n such decline... i must say though that the road ya were travelin' 'twas much gentler'n what our road 'twas 'fore paved. 'twas a complete washboard.

Beautiful view there. Thanks for sharing.
It's better to travel slow and safe especially on rough roads.

@JudyEv That is wise an safe to take time and go slow. Better late than sorry! But many fail to understand it.

It suddenly dawned on you why it was called whip aerial when you hit the corrugations. In real life,we tend to know that something is so but not why it is so before experiencing it.

@judyev I don't know how anyone could drive with that thing wobbling about all the time. The road reminded me a lot of dirt tracks we drove in Africa. When we were in Malawi there were two whole miles of tar road in the country - we lived nowhere near them but it was fantastic excitement when we drove on them. Little amuses the innocent.
