I am a bit scared because I need to have my dental procedure tomorrow morning. Since the lockdown, I haven't seen any dentists in town. Now. I had an appointment that needs to carry on. I need to have oral prophylaxis and the like. I think it is safe not to be infected with the coronavirus. My cousin had his before I decided to have this appointment. Did you ever have second thoughts about seeing a dentist due to this pandemic? Image Credit: explorehealthcareers.org

Tell the dentist first that you may have the covid. If he responds "me too", look for another dentist, or ask for another appointment in a couple of weeks.

@LadyDuck Since a few months I avoid doctors and public transports, the last one being the most dangerous, I got a blister to a toe last Saturday by walking to a shop, and I am now stuck at home barefoot with sandals

@topffer I did ask her the other way around. If it is safe, then she assured me that it is fine.

@Shavkat I know what you feel. I feel very comfortable with my dental hygienist that checks my teeth and cleans them and when I had my appointment only with her I was not sure what to expect. They told me to come 10 minutes before my appointment. I had to fill out a form. My dental hygienist was in a suit and was covered and she disinfected the room after each patient. I had to take off my mask, but, she had all her garb on. So that is the only thing I will do because I have to take care of my teeth. Everyone has to do what is best for them and do what they feel.

I can relate to you. In fact, I was so hesitant to remove my face mask for the first time in public. I even asked the dentist if it is okay to remove it. What a silly question though.

@Shavkat I could not figure out how she was going to work on my mouth so that is sillier what I thought. I was hesitant to remove my mask but I trust her.

I haven't seen that post. If I can only put this dental problem on hold. I will not go for this appointment thing. There is nothing to worry about as long as the dentists do the right health protocols.

I have no choice but to force myself.
I had my dental procedures today. I am confident that the dentist did her best to make things easier and safer. The only thing that I felt panicky about was...

Teeth cleaning can wait until the pandemic is over! I would have offered to go with you and hold your hand if you were scared about having the procedure done, but Covid 19 is no joke so you can do that appointment on your own!

I prayed with all the saints when pushed myself in the dental clinic. I felt more comfortable since it is not located in the hospital. The dental procedures are fine. I do agree COVID-19 is not a joke thing.

@Shavkat Your teeth cleaning went well? The dental technician didn't yank out any teeth while cleaning them?

Speaking of the dentist, I need to see mine too and this can't be postponed because my broken tooth badly needs filling or extraction whatever... And I am definitely having second thoughts which I think is normal to feel because of the pandemic. But what can we do if it is something urgent right? We just have to trust their system. They know what they are doing and protecting their patients and themselves is a protocol. So be at peace and feel assured you're in safe hands.
