We used to travel internationally twice a year and within the USA at least three times a year.
Our last international trip had to be over five years ago. We went to Turkey. We lucked out getting in and out without being bombed.
It is a beautiful country. We toured from Istanbul throughout the western half of the country along the Aegean Sea to the south and back through the center to Ankara and up to fabulous Istanbul.
We enjoyed staying in an actual cave hotel, visiting a school, eating the delicious foods, shopping, hot air ballooning, and seeing the major sites including Troy. It was fun being in Europe and Asia the same day.
When this darn pandemic is over, we are heading out to somewhere else we haven’t visited.
Any ideas where we should visit?

Why not Switzerland? You can bop in and see Lady Duck. Or I am sure Judy Evans in Australia would be glad to see you.

Is there somewhere you haven't been before that you've been thinking about? Either in the U.S. or overseas?

@DianneN His loss, then. Honestly, I'm happy staying here at home. Traveling just an hour away for a day trip is taxing on me.

You have many options.
For us, staying in the USA will do for a few years.

@DianneN both of us would be here all night, lol. I've only been to Maui, guatemala and Canada so I'm not one to ask.
Have you been to Venice before?

@MarshaMusselman Yes, Venice was one of my favorite places in Italy. We toured most of the country our first time there, then returned twice to stay in Florence and again in Montecatini, Pisa, Sienna, Lucca, and of course Rome. We vacationed in Oahu, Canada a couple of times, and Maui. Yes, we've been to Guatemala, too. I'm getting the travel bug just talking to you.

Such fond memories of Turkey! We haven't done a lot of far away traveling . . . but after this is over we'd certainly would like to see more of the world. I know you've been to many places, perhaps we should be asking you where "haven't" you been?

Yeah, Louisville. I'll show you the high-water mark from the 1937 flood.
I'm assuming you've been to Hawaii??
