12 hours of sleep today

Yesterday I went to sleep at 1:30 AM precisely. Today I woke up all dizzy like I was in a coma, get out of the warm comfort bed sheets, I grab my phone and look at the clock... It's 1:45 in the afternoon! Holy molly, I slept whole 12 hours.
It rarely happens to me since I never sleep for more than 9/10 hours but I guess the festive atmosphere and the whole winter break free of duty period got the best of me.
It is crazy how it occurs to us that such a long period of time has passed in the blink of an eye. It felt like a 30 minutes nap, while in reality I was there laying for 12 hours with my mind wandering in God knows which dimensions.. I don't wanna think about it but this is how death probably looks like, except that you lay there for eternity, and you are not aware of your surroundings.

Your body probably just needed that rest. I wish I could sleep for more than 4 hours a night. That's all the sleep I get every day. I don't even take daytime naps. I'm not sure why, but I guess that's just how my body functions.

Wow, I don't think I can survive with less than 6 hours a night and let alone 4 hours. Most people need more than 4 hours of sleep to function normally, mentally rested and alert. How do you manage this? And how do you feel when you wake up in the morning?
