Ever heard of it? No, I'm not referring to the genre of literature of the same name. Southern Gothic, Gothic Country, it doesn't matter what you call it... It's a twangy, dark genre of music that I've fallen into recently.
I don't always listen to music and I don't always listen to this genre, but sometimes this music calls to me...
Here's an example of one:
Some might say this is just a re-branding, a mix of blues, country and emo.. Whatever it is, I love this music

@CarolDM I might recommend this genre to my aunt and uncle, they love bluegrass and might like some of this.

I am the same way. I tend to like a song years after it's been released for the first time, I'm behind on music culture.

Very atmospheric. Sometimes I just listen to the instrumentals of it and drown out the lyrics of the songs.

@LadyDuck Very different. I do not like country music anymore because of the silly, whiney voices but this is beautiful.

There are some others that are a little more upbeat. I like the slow, drawing melodies.

A friend of mine sent me a link to a song once and said "You have to listen to this - Its' Southern Gothic! Ever since I have been diving into the genre.
