Making Friends At Mylot

I’m quite new to Mylot, but what I noticed straight away was how many long term members there are here on the platform. There must have been many friendships made over the years, and long standing ones too. I know there is a money incentive to start and join in with discussions here, but I’m guessing for a lot of people here the money is just a bonus. I think that is how I will begin to see it too.

I stayed mostly for the money. I actually left for a while when they stopped paying. But, you're right. Friendships can form. I'll get a few followers who like talking to me, and in the past several months I'll get into long conversations over various topics. So, I guess it depends really. I can see it both ways.

@Raynsun Oh, I've been here off and on throughout the years. I did leave for a while when they stopped paying. Then again, because the site wasn't accessible. I can't stay on a site I can't access, now can I? Now, the site is mostly accessible. Still could use some improvements, but I can access it. That's the important thing.

Earning comes as a bonus and it's too little to count for. But yes the friendship, interactions and fun makes us stay here and enjoy it.Hope you feel the same in coming times.

Virtual friendships have been established but as fragile as the differences in opinions could get.
Here for in-depth discussions rather than the money. I do not like one-liner responses that don't mean much. Those are for the bucks. Neither do I like mylotters who agree on something but actually they do not believe in.

@Raynsun Something like that.
But my life is much, much more than I put in.

I know what you are saying. Discussions are about debating, and debates can become uninteresting if everyone responds by saying yeah I agree. You won’t get much out of the platform either by giving a brief response. I think like everything else in life, you only get out what you put in.

Yep! Welcome to the party . . . come make yourself at home. You have a keen eye to observe - I see you've already scanned the guests. Friendships - yes - before you know it you just won't ever want to leave the party . And the money, it's secondary but nice to take home as souvenirs .

@Raynsun I started with Associated Content based in Denver, Colorado. It was doing well to an extent it was sold to Yahoo for a purported sum of $100 million; for 2 million content; it works out to $50 per post. Then Yahoo tried to finetune it and downhill it went and closed shop within a couple of years.
Then Wikinut, based in Wales, was a site that promised "lifetime payments" and it had moderators. It looked to be well run but for unknown reasons it lost its way and drifted before disappearing altogether.
Then of course Bubblews which perished after a few years; some made hay when the sun shone brightly.
myLot is more of light interactions but it has weathered the storm well.
