Photography 101 – Here I come

Most of my friends here know I take a lot of photos and, together with my husband, Vince, we take photos at various events. It’s really just a hobby but we do sell our photos as well. In the early days, only Vince took photos but then he needed a second person and it made sense for me to help out. Besides, he doesn’t have to pay me. However, mostly he adjusts the camera settings for me and I just push the button so I don’t call myself a REAL photographer. I do adjust a few settings from time to time but not nearly often enough to suit Vince. So he’s sending me to a 6-hour Photography 101 course tomorrow. I won’t be myLotting much tomorrow but prepare to be stunned with my images once I return. The photo is one I took. After tomorrow, I expect to be able to have all his hooves in the image.

You are attending that course just so that you can get a full picture of a horse. Sets me thinking

@JudyEv Don't under estimate yourself Judy. I have seen your photos with hooves and all. You do not have to prove your photography prowess

@allknowing Thanks but I do need to be able to adjust the settings more myself. :)

I like this photo, with a simple graphic program you can enhance the colors, while keeping that foggy effect. Good luck with your photography course.

@JudyEv I often place the camera on "automatic" because I am not at all good at choosing the correct exposure. I am sure you will learn a lot.

@LadyDuck I am mostly on automatic too unless Vince is around to continually adjust things. I'd really rather just point and shoot but certainly sometimes adjustments need to be made.

I desire to improve my photography skills. In the future, I might also have the chance to have a short-term course like this.

A one-day course is ideal for busy people, not that I'm that busy but I know you are.

@Shavkat That's a very good way to learn many things. Vince has watched a lot of photography videos and it has helped him immensely.

No doubt you will be the most experienced photographer there. I took photography in HS. The first class was so horribly boring I could not attend to it. The second one went a little better. That was hands on stuff...and I got some good photos out of it.
