Too Many Poems?

Someone once told me that I put too many poems on this site, and that this is a place for discussions, not poetry.
To me it seems a bit odd to dismiss a post just because of it's form without considering it's content.
Obviously we all choose which posts we want to read. I myself always skip over topics like politics or religion. but that's because I have no interest in them, not because of the way they are set out.
My poems all tell a story or attempt to be funny - I just put them into rhyme.
Anyway, to those of you who do seem to like them - thank you.

We can post whatever we want here. No one said poetry is not allowed. If someone doesn't like that you post too much poetry here that person can just ignore these posts. I haven't really posted my poems here much. I usually do that elsewhere. But maybe I will post more here from time to time.

@jaboUK I agree. If people can skip over political posts they can skip over poetry ones.

Poetically phrased topics are fine with me. I admire your skill.

Some people are just negative nancy's with no sense of humor! I think 99 percent of people enjoy them, and for those who don't, or don't understand them..who needs em? In the immortal words of Garden Party, "You can't please everyone, ya gotta please yourself."

Never listen to what people say. FIRST RULE. Besides your poems are top notch and whoever said that is a fool, my opinion.

I like your poems and yes, they do have a story to tell. We are allowed to write about any topic we want. We have a choice to read whatever we want. Continue writing poetry on here as I love it. I also write a poem on Mylot. You are very welcome

@stephcjh but it is true if you follow people negative comments you will never get anything done you will think low of yourself you have low self-esteem of yourself you're always going to think what if I post it on someone to say this or says that it doesn't matter it's up to you you don't care if they like it yes or no as long as you like it and see that it is okay to be posted

I love to read your poems, they are always a highlight when I am reading and greatly appreciated.
I agree with you about reading the religious or political posts, and the covid and vaccination posts are alot more then I tend to want to see. If you've read 1 about a shot and a sore arm is there another post which can differ?

Jabo, your poems are one of a kind, a class act, I may say.
I enjoy them. Most do too going by the number of enthusiastic responses you get
Sort of a bolt from the blue as I was thinking of wading into poems here to go off my beaten track.
I am sure most want to just have a good time here and it does not matter whether the cat is black or white as long as it catches mice. (Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping said this).

You have every right to post your content in whichever form you want it to be. As long as we all stick to guidelines, we are okay about posting anything and everything. This site has people of varied interests and each one will find discussions interesting to them and can respond. Else we are free to ignore.
