Dry season has officially started. Temperature is rising in Metro Manila and so here in the province, well it is the season, nothing new but it is scorching hot and it is hard to stay outside.
Since it is hot, what's the best thing to eat? Hmmm. Well, here in the Philippines, we have this well-loved "cooler" and dessert and we call it "halo-halo", it literally translates in mix mix, for you have to mix everything.
Halo-halo's ingredients (can be) are shaved ice, beans, pearls, sweetened banana, stripped young coconut meat, corn, sometimes it is hopped with leche flan or egg custard or ube (purple) yam, of course it has sugar as the sweetener and evaporated milk to make it creamier.
For my fellow Filipinos, cheers to our halo-halo during this season.
To my fellow mylotters, any "cooler" you eat or buy when it is summer time?

Now, I'm craving for halo-halo. Although, I want mine with less ice and more ingredients.
