Yummy Leftovers

No. Nothing gross. Just ham, cheese, and tomato. That's it. lol

@porwest We love split pea soup - with cornbread to go with it ! It's pretty easy, but just takes a while. What kind of beans do you use for your bean soup?

Split pea soup is SOOO good, and I have not actually made this in a while. I do plan on making a bean soup with the ham bone and the bits left on it. But maybe I just need to get some split peas and do that instead, It has been a while.

@much2say I am not a fan of corn bread personally. But I am also not knocking it. I use all different kinds depending on what I have and what my mood is. I have done a 15 bean soup from a bag of dry. Sometimes I just use Great Northern. Other times a combination of Great Northern and Pinto. Sometimes others. It just depends. Tonight will probably be pinto, great northern, and that's it.

@Shavkat Oh. lol. Not me. I will do soups, casseroles, throw some into scrambled eggs or an omelet...lots of good stuff do with leftover ham.

@lovebuglena It was delicious. And now tonight I am going to cut off some of the meat so Dawn can make some ham salad, and the rest will be boiled off to make a bean soup out of it.

In this case I only buttered one side of both slices of bread, then out a layer of cheese on the "dry" side. Added some ham and tomato and onion. Put on one more slice of cheese. Cooked them in a lightly oiled pan and "voila." They were delicious.

Yummy indeed.

They are really good, that's for sure. Didn't start eating them again until Carol corrupted me. It's a good and welcome corruption though. lol

But of course.

It was extremely delicious. Really enjoyed it.

Oh shoot. We did not have fries, But we did have some leftover Serbian salad and we ate that with them. Added onions and tomatoes. These were really good sandwiches, although I never actually took a picture of the finished product to share. Maybe next time. We will definitely do them again.

It is all your fault. Ever since I started talking to you I have made more grilled cheese than I probably ever ate before it. You corrupted me, lol
