A Little Savings Goes a Long Way

I like sales & to go to bargain/discount/thrift shops. Often, the quality between item A, B, C or D is the same or similar. If you're also able to save with B, it seems the obvious choice. One thing I will spend more on is, car maintenance. In the end, I will be saving because I'm keeping it up well. The car I have now is used (bought it 21 months ago). That part I saved on. But, still got a really good one. It's a 2017 Corolla. It's very comfortable, smooth ride, handles well, would be good for a road trip. Working from home & currently dealing with health issue, I usually just go out a couple of times a week for appointments & errands. Mainly around town. It will last for awhile. Even so, I take it in every few months to get it checked out. Because I want to have it for many years. What is something that you're willing to pay a little extra on?

I would have to say good quality food. I'm not usually picky, but in some cases it can be argued that I'm very much so.

@kaylachan I prefer to eat out. I know how to cook & I'm good at it, it's just not one of my favorite things. Being divorced now I do make things for myself. Still go out sometimes with friends.

There is very little I am willing to pay extra on and am wracking my brains trying to think of one and I can't. I value my money and have too often found little is worth paying extra for.

If you're able to save & get good quality, that's the best

You are so right on car maintenance. I'm lucky that my hubby likes fooling with cars. He does all the routine maintenance like changing oil, brake jobs, etc. I will pay more for shoes because a good fit is hard to combine with comfort.

@GypsyButterfly You are so right on the cars and mechanics. So much is ocmputerized now days that there is not much for the DIY'er to do! If only we could go back to the 60's and 70's with cars! I miss my 68 camaro! I also had a '69 but the 68 was a lot more fun!

@kareng I've always liked cars. Pre 80's mainly. When they had more character & individuality. Especially like them from the 20's to 40's. So much about cars are computerized these days that it's not as easy for the backyard mechanic anymore. I keep thinking I want to learn the basics & I haven't. I think it's good to know. I like sneakers. I tend to be casual & I do appreciate comfort. Though, I try to find ones that are cute as well. That's one of the few things I'm girly about. I do need a good sturdy walking shoe. I want to do that more. Besides just taking my dogs out.

I would also spend more on food, car maintenance and cat food. It might cost more but would avoid future issue like sickness and car problem.

@RebeccasFarm Shopping, restaurants or both? Do you raise fruits and/or vegetables on your farm?
