Do you reply to every comment in your question?

I ask this because i see a lot of people replying to EVERY comment with the same, "thanks for responding" thing. I could be wrong, but i don't think that helps you out at all. I wouldn't really think of it as a "nice" thing to do because when i go back and check my responses, i think it's almost annoying to see a reply like that to one of mine, i'd rather see nothing than that. It gives the impression that you are lumping responses into one mindless pile. I try to only respond to answers i think i have a decent response to. In addition, i wish we could delete others comments from our questions so i could get rid of the mindless replies of one or two words and make it all quality answers. Just thought i would share my thoughts on that, and yours?

my thought is that i do go back and read everyones response, and yes alot of times i say thank you but i do actually read everyone of them and respond, they were kind enought to respond to the question then i think that i should be kind enough to acknowledge that i saw what they had repsonded.

you are right but people in mylot are not just for time pass or fun..... they are spending their precious time on the net and the mylot pay is very low, so they want to make as much money as possible in quick time, whats your comment?

That won't work now though. I made more money posting yesterday than i have ever so far in any one day and i hardly posted at all, i just tried to make the posts i did put up of a decent quality. :) With mylot's new pay scale, it doesn't seem it's going to make a whole lot of difference now.

I'm with you gabs...I reply to most comments, except for the absurd ones, or the ones with a one word answer. I appreciate that someone actually took the time to reply to the thread. It surprises me that so many think it's irritating for someone to sincerely appreciate them making a comment. Duh!? Who ever dreamed that thanking somebody would ever be offensive to them
(...I wonder if they feel that way in real life too?!)

I'm sorry, but when you have a thread with several pages and the person that created the question replies to every single post with the exact same "thanks for your response", it's completely insincere and makes me wonder why they even started a discussion in the first place. Those are the people who i think are just trying to post as much as possible in an attempt to make money.

The FAQ actually says we should, but I find it takes up too much time. We're obviously not going to get banned for it, but I think they think it's just common courtesy.
Also, my friends know how much I appreciate them already. =)

I think it probaly means respond to them, not do the same thanks over and over. I remember reading in the guidelines that they actually said NOT to do that.. and that it doesn't help you at all.
As for the being nice part that everyone is speaking of, i think it's MUCH nicer to come up with a response or move on to one that you have something to actually respond with. :) It's not that i'm trying to be mean at all, i just think it does NOTHING for keeping a discussion going.

I agree, but i mean i only reply to ones that at least have a sentance. :) I find one or two word replies rather annoying. Of course, with the change in pay at Mylot, i'm hoping to see an increase in the number of intelligent replies and hopefully questions. ;D

Yes i agree about being able to delete the one word answers to the discussions, however i do try to reply to every comment, even if it is a one word one not because i think it will get me more money but because i want people to know that i have taken the time to actually read their response and that i care about it. Alot of people are doing this site just for the money, i am not, i really am enjoying myself here, i like responding to peoples discussions and i like hearing what people have to say about mine, a little spare pocket change from doing it is just a little bonus. Hey i am a stay at home mom, i don't get out much and this right here is one of the few forms of adult interaction i get so i'm just having fun!!!

I first try to respond to the discussion of my interests.
However, if i post any discussion, i dnot reply to every comment. Only to those comments which are relevant.

i comment on my replies, not all of the just the ones i have something to say to. i do thank them, but i don't place the same thing on every post. i know it doesn't count, but i like to let people know i'm reading. and deleting would be cool. i would mostly do the double responses, because i did a few when they had errors posting.

i replied to most of the responds in my discussion except for those one liners. i felt that it's a nice gesture and it doesnt violate mylot rules...it's stated that it wont help, but they are not against it. if the respond is good and worth commenting, i will add a few more words or some other ideas..but if not, i will just say 'thanks for your response!. nothing wrong with that!

I don't get around to answering every response, but I do put at least a thank you on each one, purely to be courteous....to thank someone for taking the time to answer a question. as i said, I don't answer every one and I usually don't answer the 1 word responses. As for at least saying thank you, it merely lets the people who have responded to my questions know that I have taken the time to read their response.

No I never answer my comment with "Thanks for responding". I answer as per their reply.
