Old buildings in Greenhills, Western Australia

We recently stayed in Greenhills, Western Australia. It is a very small town consisting of a hotel and about four houses. There are information signs along the street stating what used to be on that particular block.
About a mile from the main township is this small church. Although it was hard to photograph, you can see from the roof that the building is not square but is angled, which I found interesting.
The hotel was established in 1906. This means nothing to those of you living in countries with history that goes back hundreds of years but in Australia, it means the pub was built in the very early days of settlement.
I didn’t take a proper photo of it but in this one of Vince’s, you can see the hotel in the background.

Very interesting. Also interesting that you live in a country with a fairly new history.

@LindaOHio It seems there was farming in the area from at least 1876 as there was a mail service in those times but no Post Office. The PO was commissioned in 1888. I'm glad you asked. I took photos of all the signs in case I needed the information later.

Always nice to visit old buildings and establishments. So much history can be learned from those.

@JudyEv true. Always wanted to take photos of old buildings in our city but can't do so with this pandemic.

@allen0187 Hopefully one day you'll be able to again. There would be some very old buildings in your country.

thanks for sharing . I love old buildings if I don't have to live in them. Ths place we live was built in 1967 and I don't think it's ever been upgraded.

@JudyEv and it's nice to see ones kept for history but they shouldn't rented out with no upgrades till they fall around a persons ears .

So it is quite cold there !
You are the one without the number "143"?
And the Church looks of a different style but quite a small one!
Nice share.

Only those from the 4 houses perhaps attended church service there.

@JudyEv The priest would surely remember the sins confessed by them (lol)

@allknowing It is an Anglican church so probably not too many confessions to remember.

@RebeccasFarm The community would have been very proud of it when it was first built.

I love that picture of the church!!! but the horse, rider, and others is the best!
That does seem to be a very small church!

@JudyEv that is the reality sometimes, there are those that go big (hoping people will come) and those that stay small (living in their means) when it comes to churches!

Old buildings are always interesting. If I see an old building I wonder about who lived there and the conditions of life at that time. That old tumbledown church made me think of the faithful who worshipped there and the girls who were married there, when that little church was the place where their dreams of love and marriage came true.

So lovely to see your name again. I must have 'unfollowed' you when you didn't appear for some time. You do have to wonder about the stories these old churches could tell.

And these two would have a lot of stories to tell. It is quite some distance from any other buildings which gives a great sense of peace.

Little old buildings are very interesting. The congregation would have been very proud of their little church.
