Impatiens Looking Good Despite Tropical Storm

We lucked out by not losing power during the hurricane that was downgraded to a tropical storm. It rerouted itself and all we received was rain and lots of it. Most of our flowers and all vegetable plants were moved to the garage for protection. Couldn’t move the large heavy flower pots, so we left them out to take their chances. So thrilled with the way our pink impatiens look today. They were half protected under an eave so they are alive and not overwatered so far. More rain coming tonight.

Thankful it wasn’t as bad as what hit Tennessee (which had nothing to do with a hurricane)!

it's good that you moved your flowers and vegetables to the garage. maybe you could cover these that are left outside with some sort of bag? i don't know if that's going to help them. i hope the storm will pass soon. take care

No bags large enough for some of my planters. The rain would have crushed them or the wind would have destroyed them. Anyway, the storm is over and everything survived, including us. So relieved now.

I feel sad when I know we are going to have hail storms, of course I cannot move the vegetables that are in the garden. This year we have been lucky so far.

@DianneN Some tomatoes were hit by the hail, but I have many more than I need this year.

That would be a problem for sure. We have to wait until the sun dries up the grass before lugging all our plants back outside. Such a chore. Glad your plants have been safe!

@DianneN That was good that you did not get a hurricane or a tropical storm but rain. I am glad the ones you could not move survived. I hope it will only be rain and nothing else.
