My son is vaccinated

I still have doubts if the benefits are bigger than the risks but we decided to trust the science. My son is 13 years old and in my country the Covid vaccine is recommended to children over 12. We let him decide if he wanted to receive the vaccine, we gave him our opinion, I had doubts, the father was in favor of the vaccine. He received the second shot this weekend. He had a mild fever and some body pain but today he is fine. In my country 85% of the teenagers received the vaccine. Is your country vaccinating teenagers? Picture of my son after receiving the shot in the waiting room, where everyone must stay for 30 minutes.

I'm glad your son decided to get vaccinated. In my state, Missouri, if the parents accepted vaccination, then they allow their kids to be vaccinated... if the adults didn't get vaccinated, they aren't allowing their children to be vaccinated. (Only 46% of adults are vaccinated here... and that's after the state government started offering to pay them to get vaccinated. *sigh*) Did you see that Trump told his followers to get vaccinated and they booed him off the stage? He's worried about losing his "faithful base" of voters for the coming election. He should have thought of that when he made getting vaccinated something political and told them not to do it.

I do not know the percent of 12 and over with in the US that have had vaccination for covid. I do know a lot have so they cna go to school with less risk of getting sick. When all three of my kids are either one old enough to or one for 12 and under become open to them. We will get them vaccinated they don’t have a choice in that matter till they are 18. Till then all medical choices are up to me and there dad and there doctor. Personally with two of the kids being preemies we would be a definite yes for them. With there dad being a medical person if he feels it’s better for them after talking with the doctors then we would continue on.

@nela13 our schools here is open 5 days a week. Many of the upper grade students have been vaccinated. The rate of covid with those that are vaccinated is way lower then those that are not.

Yes, if I remember correctly one vaccine is recommended for ages 12 and up and the other one was age 16 and up. I am glad to hear that he didn't have any really bad symptoms and not for long!

Here the only vaccine that is approved to their age is Pfizer. I am glad he didn't have bad symptoms but we must be careful during the next 15 days as other symptoms may occur.

Maybe almost all children over 11 years old have been vaccinated here because schools have started to open and international flights have also started to open, all places are slowly opening.

Look at the figures of how many are in the hospital and haven't had a vaccination---or even worse "99% of COVID deaths are now of unvaccinated people, experts say" for whole story

Yes, here is the same 12 years old are free for vacation. And surprisingly now, mostly stratting from June.. The percentage of young people going for it is higher-end higher, compared with the start of the campaign when young people were mostly against or simply not interested at the time.
