I like to accomplish children's cookbooks reviews. I believe that children should be taught how to cook when toddlers. Cooking is a forever skill.
I learn things myself from such children's cookbooks. They are short, sweet and the point. No fancy ingredients. Easy instructions.
Borrow some children's cookbooks from your local library. You'd be impressed!

There have been moments when I was interested in reading a romance. However, I would rather read something educational.

I have a few I have been reading, but honestly they aren't that good so it is a slow pace. One is the President is Missing by J. Patterson and Bill Clinton. I do have an Audible book by Matthew McConahey that is quite good though.

I've not seen children's cookbooks before. Would be interested to look at them.

I hardly find time to read and most of my reading are about education and activities. That helps me as a special educator. You are right cooking is an important life skill and it has to be taught at early age.
