Drawing Hurts

You know, I have had some people say that drawing isn't a lot of work. It isn't hard. Blah, blah blah, you know, the people that have never drawn more than a stick figure or the sun at the corner of their paper.
Well, try drawing for 10-12 hours a day all days of the week and then I want to see how you hold up.
Now, I never ask pain on anyone, but drawing is a lot of work. Not only coming up with original ideas, but the actually doing so.
And I do my stuff weekly, at least I try to, so I have to go fast.
Unfortunatly, I had to slow down a little bit, because I aggravated an injury I got last year. Last year I dislocated my wrist and I didn't exactly baby it because I'm a dum dum, I also have a high pain tolerance, so I never really know how much I am hurting until...Oh look my wrist is swollen...hmm probably shouldn't draw for a bit (and then I do anyway, because I'm a DUM DUM)
So, over the weekend I had to cut down on drawing a bit because my wrist was in so much pain because I had been drawing so much and very fast. So, now I am pacing myself and wearing an ace bandage as I draw. I want to get different color ace bandages if this is going to be a normal thing. I need red, black, maybe even a pink, I would love that. I probably should get a compress brace at some point, but I don't know what will be good for my wrist. So, until then, ace bandages.
So yeah, that has been my life. Hope you all are doing well!
(also, please don't tell me go to the doctor to get it checked out, if it was a serious problem, I would, but my needs are not as urgent as other people's right now)

Just takes time and practice. I wasn't good at art as first, I am naturally a writer, but I learned how to draw!

@nela13 I wasn't naturally talented at drawing haha I had to learn, I watched tutorials and practiced and practiced and I still have many things to improve on.

@DesirousDreamer I think the natural talent is also very important.

Yeah that's right. I sympathize those comic illustrators. They're hardworking artists.

Oh man, I admire comics and mangaka's so much. the work they all do is incredible, especially the ones that do it all by themselves, they are insane and I love them so much

@DesirousDreamer I know how skilful they're. Comic magazine is very common to us since I was a child. But in this pandemic, they're rarely or none at all to be found and bought in the newsstand.

@rakski I don't even think it seems easy haha as a fan of so much art I am always in awe no matter what form it is and I know that it has taken people a lot of time to do.

Oh man, so many people downplay artists so much. I have gotten a lot of it from people that I know. They don't think it is, but pfft they would be so wrong.

My wrist isn't swollen so ice packs would do no good. Thank you for the suggestion. I have an ace bandage and it is doing just fine haha

I realize that drawing is tougher than it appears to be.

@DesirousDreamer You are right since if you enjoy what you do, it is fun.

It is good to acknowledge it. I don't care how far I will be into my career, I believe I will always find drawing to be difficult but fun!
