A perfect day for a rainbow! Do you still enjoy rainbows?

Our rain eased out of town today, but not without some last-gasp showers.
The result was alternating periods of rain and sunshine--perfect for a rainbow.
I didn't see one today with the kids, though the sprouts and I did do some good squirrel-watching.
But on my home this evening, as I was heading East into a small shower, and the sun was thinking of starting to set, I saw a great rainbow directly in front of me.
I slowed down to study it, and noticed that the longer wavengths (like red) were at the top, while she shorter wavelengths (like blue) were near the bottom. Violet was at the absolute bottom, it seemed.
Any scientists out there who why the colors are distributed as they are?
But I also just smiled and realized that a rainbow makes my day.
If you are over five, do you still get a thrill when you see a really good rainbow?

Yes I do. They are rare. I love it more, when I don't have to have someone point them out to me, or lie and say I see it when I don't.

Rainbows are cool. I don't know about the color distribution.

The reason why the colors of the rainbows are distributed as they are is not something short and easy to explain, but you can find the answer to your question consulting Wikipedia.
I like rainbows so much, that I "create" them watering the garden in the sun.

I love seeing rainbows. I remember when I was on vacation in Maui, Hawaii a while ago there were double rainbows there. Wonder what causes that to happen.

Yes, it's really exciting for me to see rainbows. Rainbows have really pretty colors and they are incredible to look at.
