Todays Coffee and Some Chit Chat

Happy Tuesday from my little corner of the myLot world. It's sunny but cold here this morning. Today is just a typical day...cleaning, laundry etc. Yesterday I got two things I ordered from Etsy so I can officially say I started my Christmas shopping. I've got so much Christmas on my mind that I keep ignoring the fact that Thanksgiving is next week. I need to find out from my oldest daughter who's coming so I know what I need to buy and make for side dishes. She does the bulk of the whole dinner but we have a few side dishes that I make and bring (you know...tradition). Those dishes that we basically only eat at Thanksgiving. I passed the torch for stuffed mushroom to my granddaughter and I have to say she does a really good job on them. Meanwhile I've been trying to get more steps in each day and I've challenged myself to meet a certain goal by weeks end. That means I can't sit here at the computer for long periods of time and have to get up and move. Right now I'll enjoy my coffee and chat a bit before my timer goes off that I need to get up. Have a great day my friends

Sounds like you are getting your work plan ready. I just got back from the "steps" Maybe 2 1/4 miles. Although I know I am in better shape..it annoys me that I am not losing weight. I am aware I am actually subconciously (or not) eating more as a reward for exercising. Sigh!

It's a battle trying to drop some weight. I struggle with it too. Frustrating to say the least and I'm hoping that the extra steps might help. You being able to do 2 1/4 miles is pretty good. I do most of my steps indoors as I can't walk too far with my bad knees. I'm sure all the steps you're doing at least offsets what you're eating (the little extras)

It’s warmed up here some, so I’m going to try to enjoy it as much as possible. The problem is it’ll be dark in five hours so you really can’t do a lot. Oh, well, any day without snow in the winter is a good one.

When I was a kid I loved snow but the older I get the more of a nuisance it is. I totally agree that any day without snow is a good one

I like stuffed mushrooms I sometimes serve them as appetizers. This year for Christmas I do not intent to prepare a BIG MEAL, no more for us, we eat very little and I do not want leftovers for days.

Stuffed mushroom are great as appetizers. For Thanksgiving they just go on the table with every other dish of what turns out to be "too much" food. At least I get to take home leftovers

@Marilynda1225 I am glad we do not celebrate, Christmas and New Year's Eve are enough to gain weight.

My cat has been trying to help me get more exercise. He is a very rambunctious kitty at times. I have ordered my Thanksgiving dinner. Usually, I do the entire cooking the huge feast thing, but I decided to take the easy route this year given everything that is going on. We have a move coming up, and we've been dealing with other stuff during the past little while... So, easy route it is! Hopefully, next year, I will be back to my usual 2-3 days of working to prepare the perfect feast for us.

I really should copy you and get a timer. It's impossible to realise how fast time goes when I am on MyLot.

Having a timer for that is a really good idea. Goodluck with the steps.

Today is a beautiful sunny day in my corner of the world. I've been busy tucked away in my little home office working away. For some strange reason I thought that your Thanksgiving was last weekend, I even said something to my hubby that his team wouldn't be playing football since they always play on that holiday instead. Boy was I ever wrong.

I had to look at the calendar. I didn't realize Thanksgiving was next week. Wow! This month flew by fast. That's great you passed the torch for the big meal. You'll need those extra steps when you sit down to eat.

I need to do more steps too. It's good to have a bit of garden to look after as that gets me up and moving morning and night at least.

That’s neat your daughters is taking over Thanksgivings dinner. I try to walk an hour every day. I don’t know how many steps that is.
