Visited Buddy the Red-Tailed Hawk

Took a ride down to the state park. Such a gorgeous day for a walk.
Went to visit Cotton, the rescued owl. And to my surprise I saw Buddy, the red-tailed hawk in an area next to her.
I visited him back in August and he was suppose to be released. But the ranger said his wing is not healing like they hoped it would.
So for now he will stay in the park, safe and taken care of, beside Cotton.
Very thankful for these park rangers that rescue injured wildlife. I hope he can be released eventually. He is stunning up close.

That is awesome! I love red-tailed hawks. And hawks in general.
We have a state park nearby that rescues owls of various species and rehabilitates them. It's always fun to visit and see the different varieties of owls they have on hand.

I like to share content that Wild at Heart raptor rescue posts on Facebook and one thing they are always concerned about is whether an injured raptor is capable of flying properly so it can hunt, with out proper flight ability they will not be able to hunt well enough to survive.

Good that they are taking good care of Buddy. Hope that he heals fast and released soon. What has happened to Cotton? God bless these park rangers.
