It is known here that eating garlic and onions makes you smell. Yet, our most famous and consumed dish which is Tajine contains both garlic and onions. The ingredients may vary inside the Tajine but those too are always there.
I don't like to smell so I always avoid those two ingredients, but to be honest, my cooking isn't the best. I'm hesitant to start using garlic and onions in my recipes.
Do you use garlic and onions very often ? To you think they can make you smell ?

I love to cook with both of these. Love sweet onions, not the purple ones.

@Babino ......The purple ones are harsh and the yellow and white ones have a sweeter flavor.

I use garlic and onions more often because they spice up my dishes. Garlic also has a natural antibacterial property that could help in your defence mechanism, and this I experience, first-hand.
Sometimes, your breath could smell if you haven't brush after eating garlic or onions, but it doesn't stay long once you brush.
Also, people who often smelled eat tons of these ingredients, anything taken in excess is bad. But with proper intake, you shouldn't smell.

I use garlic and onions in most of my cooking. You can’t make a decent sauce without onions. Onions linger on your clothes, so if you are the cook, it’s best to change afterwards. Garlic lingers on your body so not much you can do about it, but it’s good for you.
We tend to spell it ‘Tagine’ with a ‘g’. As it’s a Moroccan dish I guess we are wrong. I wonder why we changed it? Anyway, I love a Moroccan stew. Very tasty!

@Babino Cool, that’s good to know I won’t offend you by saying tagine.
You must be one of those modern women. Once upon a time all women knew how to cook and I thought Morocco would still be one of those countries. How are you going to make a good wife?
I grew up with just salt and pepper to add taste to meals. Once I was introduced to spices the world became my oyster. I use Ras El Hanout when I make a Moroccan stew. I don’t know if it’s authentic or just a British concoction. It’s got lots of spices in a blend and quite fragrant. Lovely!

I hardly eat food with garlic, but I don't think you can avoid onions in sauce
