Yay! I paid off my house!

Today has been one of those days, but I have the info I need to pay off my house. I just need my husband to write the final check. Our account is a joint account, and both our names are on my checks. But, due to my blindness, he has to write them for me.
However, I'm happy to have that particular monkey off my back. We both are. And, we met our personal goal. We're writting our final check, five years to the day we spent our first night in this house. It feels good to be free and clear.

Yep. I'm so happy about it. I know we'll have home owners insurance and property taxes to pay each year, But, we can start saving for that now, and in a year we won't have to think about it.

@just4him Yes, but those are once a year. And, I can squirrel money away to pay it and not have to think about weather or not I have it. Not that I wasn't thankful for the escrow, but... they had to guess (based on the previous year) what the next year would be.

@kaylachan It's a payment you won't have in the future, though you will always have taxes and homeowners insurance.

Yeah. We didn't know if we'd ever reach this point, but we're thankful for it all the same. It hasn't really sunk in, yet. Yesterday, our balance was at 0, today the mortage account is gone.
