A Journey Back in Time

Today has been a busy day. I cleaned, cooked and did laundry. Between times I got out my old journals that I’ve written for years. It was so interesting to see what we were all doing in earlier times. I’d forgotten more than I’d thought. Places we’d visited, incidents that happened. I really enjoyed looking back.
I haven’t been through many yet but I’m gradually going to look through all and get the journals in yearly order. I found friends I’d forgotten all about and dates of birth for nieces and nephews. Lots of interesting things about mama and my son who passed away last year and other friends and relative who are no longer with us. It was a journey back in time.
The picture is me and my son who passed away last year.

@RubyHawk At the Wal Mart Store I have made copies of different photos. It's not very expensive and you can make them any size you want! Also, you can print out as many copies as you wish to pay for.

@kobesbuddy I only have this one picture and it’s a tiny bit faded. Do you think it would make a copy?

Years ago, I scanned in all the paper photographs of friends and family and organized them on DVD disks. Since then, I update that disk every year. It's a bit of a pain, but is interesting to go back through once in a while and remember things as they used to be.
That's a very nice photo of you and your son.

@RubyHawk There are services that do that. I know Walmart's photo department does it BUT, you run the risk of them losing irreplaceable photos and they make you sign an agreement that if the photos are lost, there's nothing you can do about it.
Office Depot has a similar service but I don't know if they do it in a local to you store or if they send them off like Walmart does.
And I don't know the price they'd charge to do that.

@DaddyEvil I wouldn’t want to take a chance if losing mine. I suppose I’ll keep mine as they are. This past year I haven’t made pictures as I used to. With covid I haven’t been to many events and haven’t visited or had visitors much.

We all looked so different back in those days. It's nice to be able to go back in time and great that your took the time to keep track all those years ago.

@RubyHawk to late for that for me. My hands shake and my writing is worse than it ever was before. But my writings here are sort of a journal too.

@MarshaMusselman Yes, Mylot is sort of like a journal. I never look back at my discussions on Mylot but one day I will.

I have been doing the same thing - going through old diaries. There were people mentioned that I no longer remember at all. That is sad. I was so active I quite admired the energy of my younger self!

@RubyHawk Yet they must have meant something to us back in the day or we would not have written about them. It is nice when a long lost friend finds us through the internet though, because they have remembered us.

@41CombedaleRoad I actually haven’t been contacted by anyone I’m not in contact with.I used to go on Facebook a lot but I seldom go there now. I suppose because I spent my free time on Mylot.

You look lovely there and your little boy is very cute. I have all my journals in year order but haven't started going through them yet. They are more like diaries than journals I guess but I know there will be a lot of memories stored there.

Nice picture. I'm sorry to hear about your son. I used to keep a journal too from when I was very young. I'm sorry I didn't keep it up after I was in my teens. It's so interesting to read.
