Good News: My City is in Lockdown?!?

'Am I sound weird?' I am not my fellow myLotters about this matter. As I read a legit piece of news, the 5 cases last December spikes to 64 cases in New Year here in Baguio City, Philippines. As I expected, it is because the borders were opened to tourists who spend their vacations here. That is the reason why my city needs to be closed again and re-opened tentatively by March or April. That is good news for me.
Is your city open for tourists now?
Or, is it still in lockdown?

My country (Japan) has closed its borders to foreign tourists, but we can travel as much as we like inside the country. People who live in Japan but have family overseas are allowed to come back in. Everyone who comes back in (Japanese or with a visa that they were using already) has an enforced 14-day quarantine with a PCR test every day.

Japan still totally closed the borders. Some of my friends who get a scholarship in Japan must be waiting. During the time they learn through online.

Metro Manila is on alert level 3 meaning there are more restrictions on movement and gatherings but not yet on lockdown.

All open for everything & everyone. Omicron taking toll, over 1000 with covid, but only 184 hospitalized. Over 72% fully vaccinated. Depends on New Years numbers, may go back to 10 to gather.

@oahuwriter I think she was caught by the authority. The hotel was closed because of her.

We are allowed tourists who are not in red light areas. (A red light area is where there are lots of cases of COVID).

@sharonelton Some people in the higher ranks cannot get the rationale about it.

@Shavkat Yes, I totally agree with you. That's how COVID got into the country in the first place!

Yes, travel is still going on. Most of my family have been ill with fever over the Christmas season.

@solidcodes Before the pandemic, some of the roads have been widened by the DPWH.

I actually used to work as a tourist guide. It was tourist travel restrictions that deprived me of my income.
