Tomorrow is Chinese Lunar New Year's eve, due to the covid-19 pandemic, people cannot celebrate the New Year as they used to.
Instead, we celebrate the new year by sending electronic red envelopes and videos of New Year's wishes in Wechat group, Weibo and verious social network service.
My mother have made dumplings and many Kouwan(steamed meat and vegetables in bowls) for new years holiday.
Happy Chinese New Year 2022!
2022 Xinnián kuàilè!

That photo is good. It gives me appetite just by looking.
What is the name of the calendar you use?
Happy new year. Enjoy the dumplings when you finally eat it

@garfieldlee Thanks for giving detailed explanation. I now understand. It's my first time to hear about Chinese lunar calendar.
Our new year is always January first

Chinese Lunar Calendar
In the calendar, one year is divided into 12 months and the months have either 29 or 30 days, always beginning on days of astronomical new moons. So each year has 354 or 355 days. To make the average length of the years equal to a tropical year, an intercalary month is added every two or three years.
As a result, an ordinary year has 12 months while a leap year has 13 months. And an ordinary year has 354, or 355 days, and a leap year has 384 or 385 days.

@garfieldlee I understand, I have a couple of friends in Xi'an, right the diet is slightly different from the Southern Chinese that we are very familiar with, perhaps because of the cold climate, more noodles instead of rice, my friends are also fond of mutton which is not common in the South

@louievill Yes, Northern Chinese like mutton very much, we need high energy food to withstand cold weather in winter. Steamed mutton and stewed noodles are very popular here. Just like German marinated pork and Russian sausage

@garfieldlee
There is the Seattle Chinatown in the international district. It's a large section with many restaurants and shops.
I would like to visit but I don't like going to Seattle unless I have to.
I will share a toast and good wishes from my home.
I hope you have a great time there

Thank you! This week is the public holiday, supermarket and grocery are all closed, we have to prepare enough food to entertain guests, so the pic only showed a small portion of food we had made.
