Making Chili

So today is chore day. I got the chili started before I moved everything out of the dining room, bathroom, and hallway so I could wash the floor. Then I came here to work on notifications and play a couple of games. When I went to taste-test the chili, it was still cold. I forgot to turn the crockpot on. Have you done that? It's not the first time I've put something in the crockpot and expected a delicious hot meal when I got home from church or when I estimated it would be finished to find dinner would be late. At least this time I caught it early.
I just looked at it and tasted it to determine if I had enough chili powder in it. I'm glad I have the extra-large bottle of chili powder. I've added a lot, and still don't know if I added enough yet. I have a full crockpot that will last me a couple of days. I also added some cayenne pepper. This is a first for me, so I hope I didn't overdo it.
I also decided to change the dining room a little bit. I rotated the table so it's the long way instead of the short way. I asked my neighbor, she said she likes it better this way. I think I do too. I wonder how long it will take me to remember I have it that way when I come from my bedroom/office.
What are you having for dinner? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

@just4him it is ground beef or pork with minced veggies wrapped in rice paper.

@allen0187 That sounds good. Is it like lumpia? I've had that and it was very good.

Your table is lengthwise of the dining room, that is how it would probably look best.

@just4him I think it's nicer with the leaf up on both sides.

@kobesbuddy I agree. I couldn't put it up before as there wasn't room. There was, but it didn't leave a lot to move around so I kept the one side down.

At times we think we have started on something and then realize :" Oh, I didn't even start! "
So did you knew the Chili recipe beforehand or did you had to check the recipe somewhere?

We sometimes used to make pickles at our home.
Not Chillies.

We had K's homemade pizza for dinner last night. I don't know what's on the menu for tonight. Chili sounds good, though I think yours would be too spicy hot for me. I prefer a mild chili. It's my mother's fault. When I was growing up, she thought the only two spices in the world were salt and pepper and used both sparingly.

I made chili a few days ago. I opened the can, poured it into a bowl and microwaved it. Then added Chees-Its to it. YUM! (Pretty didn't want to share since I won't eat beans in my chili. )

@just4him I love all kinds of young beans but just don't like them once they've been hulled. *shrug* Mom always griped at me over that.

I don't like anything too spicy. My kids kept telling me (when they lived at home) that I didn't know how to spice anything. With as much chili as I made, this isn't spicy. It's perfect even for a mild palette. Mine included. It has the perfect bite to it. It might not be spicy enough for you.

Nice photo.
Yes I've ever put something to cook and forgot to turn on the source of heat but I think it only happened once in the past

I've certainly forgotten to turn the crockpot on ( makes slow cooking even slower) Hope you enjoy your chili
Your table looks nice longways

Yes, it does make it really slow cooking. Thank you. It's almost ready.
Thank you. I like it better this way too.
