It is HARD to be the ELDEST in the FAMILY

Now that my biological parents are enjoying their second lives in heaven, I am the one who took the responsibility in dealing with my siblings' flaws. You must say that we are adults and why do I need to interfere with their personal lives. I only do this if something is not right. It is not easy to be the eldest and I have proven many times through the years. What do you think, guys? Are you the eldest in the family? Image Credit: static.toiimg.com

My sister is the eldest in our family, she's as mean as a "poisonous snake!" I stay far away from her manipulation and controls.

I think I am the kindest eldest in the bloodline of my family. If I have this eldest sister, I will definitely stay away from her.

I am the youngest of three but none of us feel responsible for the others. We are all there for each other and get on very well. (We're all in our 80s now)

I hope we could be like that. My siblings and I were raised to be connected at all costs. This is how my parents want us to be.

I am the youngest but my two siblings and I never interfered in each others lives. My brother passed away a few years ago.

I am sorry about your older brother. We do have healthy arguments with the siblings.

I can feel you as I am the eldest child of the family, too.

@thelme55 My younger sister and I have only one year gap. We usually talk about serious matters about family and have the same opinions when having final decisions.

@Shavkat Even when my parents are gone now, they (my siblings) still ask my advice or opinion if not financial support.

I am not the eldest but I know the eldest kid has the responsibility especially when the parents are no more.

I'm the second in my siblings. My eldest sister is very responsible and I'm so happy that she became the eldest. Yes I believe it is hard to be the first born. You have to be like the parent when the parents are gone. I think my eldest sister will not have a hard time dealing with us her siblings

I'm the next-to-the-youngest in my family. I don't have an opinion anyway. In the US, unless we ask for advice from an older sibling, they don't interfere in our lives after we're over 18 years old. *shrug*

I am the eldest. But they are adults and have to live with what they do, not me.

Yes I'm the eldest and it is not easy. It's hard to act like a parent to younger siblings especially if they are grown and won't listen or take any advice
