Knocked me off my feet!

And no, it wasn't a good looking guy, unfortunately.
I had to go to the hardware store to pick something up. No worries, it's not far to drive and I have been there often.
Wrong! It all went smoothly. Gathered my packages and headed out the door to my car. Like many businesses, they have automatic doors, and the doors opened when I headed for them. And then, boom! The door closed very quickly and I was walking through the doorway, knocked me flat! I didn't yell or anything. Help came running. The manager was very apologetic, he said last week the door was malfunctioning and the owner sent a repair company and it had been fine ever since. Until today, when it knocked me over!
They were concerned of course ( I am unfortunately not a spring chick ) but I am not hurt, it just shook me up. I feel very fortunate, I had a fall last year and broke my arm in 2 places, so to not be hurt is wonderful. Could have been much worse. They were ready to call an ambulance, thankful I didn't need one. I am to go to get treatment for the fall within 48 hours if I need it, but I know I won't have to do that, so thankful!!

You may want to go get an exam just in case.
If something develops later, you'll have record of the incident at the store.
What they were telling you was that their legal obligation ends in 48 hours. After that, you'll have to pay for any related treatments you have and then have to prove your condition is related to the incident at the store.
I am glad you feel ok, but sometimes problems come up days after an injury.

Yes, I may go tomorrow to the Dr.'s office, as I prefer not to use the emergency room when it's not an emergency! Thanks.

@MarieCoyle
Even an urgent care would work.

The urgent care I use is not far, so I will check in there in the AM.

I am glad that you weren't injured, just startled. Knocked down too.

Me, too. I hate it when I get hurt or am sick. Sometimes I do klutzy things, but not often.

That's so good! I'm so glad you're ok. I've had elevator doors close in me, but, put your hand on it and it stops, fortunately.

She said she didn't know it was that slippery outside. I feel bad for her. She is in the hospital, they had to do surgery.

I am so glad I'm not. My neighbor fell on the ice Monday and broke her foot. So many accidents.

I'm sure they have insurance but yes, they would have to pay up, for sure.
