Relaxing by the beach

@JudyEv It's how she's fished since she was about 5 years old. I guess the fish she catches might not have as much fun as she does, but I'd rather she bother them instead of me and they get a bite to eat.

That sounds the ideal way to fish in a way. I could easily read while others fished.

@JudyEv I never liked to bake in the sun, I turn as red as a cooked lobster and then I peel, I do not tan.

@LadyDuck I tan quite well but Vince has fair skin and burns and peels like you do.

That would suit me too. Baking in the sun doesn't appeal to me.

No, this is one of mine. I just saw the man standing there and it all just 'spoke' to me somehow.

@JudyEv Yes, he does. We are traveling to Chennai, a nearby coastal city this Tuesday for some important work. Hope we get some time to visit the sea and listen to the waves. Have not been to the beaches since the pandemic.

The house belongs to our friends but at New Year a group of us spend a few days there.

I could live by a river but I'm not fussed about living near the beach.

@JudyEv Love to visit the beach once in a while too. But if one giving choice, I would choose mountain.

There is a lot of beach-fishing in this area.

I'm trying to tidy up my files and make it easier to find things.

@JudyEv Here they used to have basic resorts, which were a cluster of little cottages/cabins on the lakeside. You could choose basic ones that you had to bring all of your linens and cookware, or you could choose something a bit higher up that all you were required to bring was your own food and clothing, or you could stay at a place that had a main lodge that offered meals. They often had community rooms where you could go and play darts or cards on a rainy day, or take a boat out to fish on the lake or water ski and always there was a campfire area for nightly gatherings.

I have heard about the cabins that are on the edges of lakes. Here, home-owners can't own the land right down to the beach although they have tried to from time to time. The beach is always available to the public.

The beach was pretty deserted in that area. Maybe it wasn't really a good place to fish.

@JudyEv yes, and all I do is smile or sigh!

It's good to look back on good times.

@JudyEv It's a sad state of the world. So many places are becoming residential areas.

So many of our 'virgin' areas are now residential sites. Sometimes it seems there are just too many people in the world.

The coastal suburbs are spreading further and further along the coast.

I would have put the rod away and just sat there for a while.

I'm sure he want home perfectly content even if he didn't catch many fish.

I would be happy reading a book by the sea but I wouldn't want to fish.

That's wonderful that you can recall the calm feelings of that day. Sometimes we can recall the place but not the feelings that go with it.

I thought the photo was soothing too. He seems quite at peace there.
