I had a good day, did you?

I had a Dr. appointment today, so that was basically the only thing on my agenda, to drive to a nearby city for that. My daughter called last night and said she wanted to meet me afterwards. So my daughter and son in law took me to lunch, we went to a few stores to poke around, then they wanted to go to Starbuck's for coffee so we did that. It's so nice that they like to spend time with ol' Mom, and I certainly enjoy it. We made plans for one day next week, to get together. We plan to have a girl day, which we do occasionally. I love girl days.

@MarieCoyle My mother lived in Italy, but we used to go to see her at least once a month and we stayed a couple of days.

@LadyDuck It gives me a break, and I didn't know how much I needed that in my life until they moved closer to me.

They invite me over so often, I am very fortunate. My son in law is so very kind to me, and good to his own parents, too. Thanks, Anna.

You are very blessed to live fairly near to your kids. That was a wonderful outing for y'all.

It's not always been this way, but some of the chicks are near me now. I am very happy about that, I love having my children close by. Thank you.

@MarieCoyle Our son and grandson live about 40 minutes from us, so that's not so bad. But our daughter and her family live in Charleston, SC which is seven hours away. Our granddaughter lives about five hours away and our grandson three hours.

@1creekgirl I am glad you have some family close to you, within driving distance, I do know how much that means.

You had a great day! And another one on the books for next week. That is wonderful! And, yes, I'm jealous. All three of my daughters are 70 or more miles away.

One son is about a mile from me. The other son is an hour away, oldest daughter is 20 miles, and the youngest is very, very far, so we don't get to see her often, and we all miss her and her family. Plus I have 2 angel babies to remember...us mama's don't forget them. Thank you!

They mean the world to me. I feel very fortunate to have such sweet children. They have their faults, who doesn't? But the love is strong, and that means so much. Thank you.

We used to go once in a while for a treat. Haven't been but twice in the last two years, we just make our coffee at home. And that's fine, it's just nice to have a treat.

Our family is like many others--we have had tragedies, unexpected illnesses, accidents, and deaths, and my ex husband ignored our children for a long time before he woke up and realized what he was doing, long story but I did want my children to have a relationship with their father. It just took time for him to wake up.
