How Often Do You Do Your Household Chores?
@ihasaquestion (8274)

Hello my lotties,
I am here for another round of discussion. Today's topic is on housework or your daily chores.
Question is, how many times per week do you do your respective household chores, and which are the ones you maintain daily and weekly?
Last but not least, do you do them all by yourself, or is there an outside help from a domestic helper or family member etc. And do you maintain a housework checklist?
Thanks in advance for your answers and happy mylotting to all.

I do not maintain a housework checklist. I clean the bathrooms and the kitchen every day.
I do the bedroom once a week when I strip the bed and to laundry. Same for the other rooms, once a week unless I noticed that my work is needed. I do everything myself, but my husband helps dusting, this is something he seems to like to do.

Does your laundry pile up quick, or once a week seem okay for you?

@ihasaquestion We are only two, but I always do laundry at least twice a week. The laundry pile up quick and I like to have fresh towels and kitchen rugs changed every other day.

I have a regular household chores like washing the dishes, hanging clothes and folding dry clothes. Sometimes I declutter and clean our electric fan and aircon grills. We hire a house hold helper once a week

I think that works out great for you. Cleaning aircon grills sound kind of hard though.

I have daily chores, weekly twice chores and monthly chores. I do most of them by myself. But then I also have a household help who is really helpful and shares some load. My children and husband also help when needed. They at least don't create the mess around the house and help me maintain it.

I like your cleaning system or routine. It's great to have extra pair of hands to help a little, even if not much.

@ihasaquestion Yes, I need to manage a lot other than chores. A little extra help is appreciated. And if things are done regularly they stay in track. They don't pile up and become overwhelming

@arunima25 Agree with you on this for sure. Doing the chores bit by bit is useful for sure. Imagine like 3 days of not doing any housework, gosh the messiness.

I have a sister that helps me do the household chores. My parents are both working, my dad is working at home so sometimes he does the difficult things we can't do like fixing broken things in the house, etc.
I do my own laundry. And I do that twice a week. While my dad is in charge of theirs. My sister and I are taking turns in doing the dishes and sweeping the floor almost thrice a day.

Hello, thanks for gracing my discussion. Shared responsibility is good, so the household chores will not be too overwhelming.

I do my own work here. The bathrooms get wiped down daily, unless no one has been here to use the guest bathroom. I never, ever leave dishes in my sink, I hate that. When I cook, I clean it all up every time. I think most people do. I wash floors frequently, do laundry as needed, and so forth. Often I am gone for several days at a time, but when I leave I do leave my house in order to come home to.

That's a very neat routine. Do you get tired and what do you do when you're burnt out?

@MarieCoyle Thanks for your answer, Marie. I understand that as we age more, our pace becomes slower. It's cool that you're able to pace out your housework.

I had to smile at that. Yes, I get tired of course. I am retired. I no doubt move much slower than you do. Some things take priority in housework, like bathrooms, kitchens, and laundry. I don't have a large home, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen and living room, laundry room, and the garage. It's plenty for me to keep up. Smallest home I've had in years, and I truly enjoy it.

Every single day. I'm used to feeding a large family of my own. Home chores only end when I'm sleeping or watching a movie .

i can't pass a day without washing the dishes, cooking, gardening and sweeping the floors. i think these are very basic chores. some days i'd push myself to declutter and discard a few stuff. other days i'd sweep leaves in the front porch and in the backyard. i live in a big house with two bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, and a basement. i miss my housekeeper already!

I clean the entire house Sunday mornings and my laundry. During the week, I just do dishes and sweep the house. I do it all by myself . I listen to music while cleaning which helps me enjoy cleaning even more.

Sounds about cool. I sometimes watch local or foreign dramas while cleaning up myself.
