Do you know people who put out a "false front"? But you know "the truth"?

How do you deal with it? Do you blow their cover? Do you lay low? I know a handful of people in the low level music biz here who make a big deal out their support for good causes. They play concerts for good causes. They always seem to appear in Facebook photos of charity fundraisers. Some even claim to be "Christian." But I have played with them, seen some of the things they've done to promote only themselves, and know the truth. Sometimes I vent here (like about the girl who claimed to want to "jam" but really only wanted money for her new "band"), but locally I lay low. "Karma's gonna get 'em," I think. But I'm not so sure. Your thoughts? Do you know such people? Do you believe in "karma"?

@DaddyEvil Oh, the first thing one should look at if they see something in too many others is "projecton." Erik Erikson says if you're old and grey and are satisfied with what you've done, then you are doing well. I think of people like Tr*** as probably miserable.

I got accuses of blowing my own trumpet about swimming laps for charity. Of course I was going to share my fundraising efforts... That is how you yknow get donations and raise awareness. People also came after me because I brag about working for charity when all I said was "random american flag donated to work with cut rope still attached"

@TheHorse we had a donation come into the store it was the US flag and it still had string attached to it like it had been cut down from being flown.

I'm not so sure about Karma, too. If it does exist, it seems inefficient and slow most of the time.

@TheHorse Politics seems to transcend ordinary defective Karma. Even when our political system is working well, it leaves a lot to be desired and a lot of horrible people profit off it with no apparent Karmic penalty. We should come up with a new classification for it.

I'd have to agree with that. I won't get politcal, but that's one of the first things that came to mind.

I see that way too many times with people who appear to be good Christian folk, but in reality are slimy snakes.

@TheSojourner True, it's probably been that way for millennia, but I guess it just bothers me more now to see people acting that way.

@TheSojourner I see a lot of non-believers that I feel will fare better on Judgement Day than some of these so called "believers" who think they are so righteous and perfect.

@TheSojourner I have always questioned the beliefs associated with organized religion. What I haven't questioned is the existence of a spiritual realm. Until science can prove one doesn't exist, I will firmly believe that there are other realms in existence other than the physical realm.

I definitely believe in Karma...I've seen it with my own eyes. I know people such as the ones you're talking about. I lay low. Some of the most vocal Christians are some of the worst people!

I don't out them but don't associate with them. I know a few on the Buy Nothing site that lie to get sympathy to get items. I block them. They usually get themselves ousted on their own.

I think I don't pay enough attention to people to notice their hypocrisy, but there are a few that spring to mind. I just think of them as sort of snobs and go about my way. They probably have their reasons to act as they do, even if they aren't good ones. It really isn't for me to judge.

it seems like bad karma is everywhere right now--people ask as though they can do whatever they wish with no consequences--but there are always consequences--sooner or later--I tend to lie low as well--it is less stressful

Do you mean people who pretend inorder to get something. You can't change everyone so you just have to tolerate people with their different characters. Maybe they also have a reason why they do some things.
