We Need Luck Too

I believe hard work pays. No one could have achieved much without it.
However, luck has played a part to give me breaks when I needed them badly. I have hit roadblocks even for matters that looked simple but when someone goes the extra mile or gives a listening ear, things happen.
I had an issue with my bank with regard to internet banking. During earlier visits, I was told the culprit was the hardware token. During my next visit, I was made to understand the problem was resolved, but it persisted.
I made another visit and met the right person who was determined to solve the issue than beat about the bush and kick it down the road.
During my working years, I made every effort to resolve issues and the positive response I got was palpable. I also have had colleagues who made a mountain out of a molehill and were prone to mood swings.
I can never forget a few who helped me out of the way right from my younger days. Some help while a few make it hard for others.
During tough times we need to meet those with a heart.
I am sure you can recollect a few instances that made a difference in your lives

Yes as a matter of fact I meet many people with heart during these difficult times.
Problem is though, their hearts do not help.

@aninditasen Yes. life is such we should know which fortune we are after.
Some flatter only to deceive.
Better to bank on those that live on after us as an example of a worthy life lived well.

@Shiva49 We have to be alert enough to grab that fortune while the flood water flows by.

I did meet several people who were willing to help without expecting anything in return. But I noticed that it was like, I was paid back for what I previously did.
Karma is real, and what we give off to the world will soon get back to you in the future,

I have seen and realized how we behave/approach others has a real effect on their response. That is also karma in action.
When we are sincere in our pursuits and our intentions are not selfish, others are willing to go the distance too.
I recall many who reciprocated positively and returned the compliment more than in equal measure.

Yes, I have had hard times where things did not go right and after a time it got resolved or did not get resolved. It feels good when it does get resolved. What is sad that one has to find that one person that will help them and not contine with the wrong ones that give you the run around and do not care to help.

"Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect."
Ralph Waldo Emerson, (1803 to 1882) the well-known American philosopher said this.
So, I am not so sure about luck, perhaps it is more good fortune, when we meet someone with that helpful attitude, and graceful heart.
And yet, in our world we cannot know it all, and so some things could be attributed to luck.
Would even God, know the numbers in next week's lotto draw, then?
Perhaps luck is different than chance, and probability, then.
"Good luck is when opportunity meets preparation, while bad luck is when lack of preparation meets reality."
Eliyahu Goldratt, (1947 to 2011) an Israeli business person said this.
We need to do the work first then, and then lucky breaks might come our way, if we deserve them to do so.

@Shiva49 Yes, that's it exactly, they try to get us to mouth off their words for them, or to sign petitions, with their words on them too.

@innertalks Yeah, they try to put words into our mouths.
Then it misses the point and becomes a charade.
