Summer vacation is laid down for some students in my country now. Some parents are complaining that their kids are becoming overuse using the modern gadgets. I am glad that my niece can still be controlled using her mobile phone. Regardless, I still encourage her to read novel books. I think it is a good way of parenting.
What do you think about this, myLotters?

I love that picture. Children should not be spending all their available time online. First of all staring at a screen for hours on end is bad for one's health. Kids should spend some time outdoors, doing outdoor stuff - exercise too.
Having said that , the only thing l can suggest is to lay down some strict rules.

The problem is that people are using electronic gadgets as a babysitter now. The kids are used to having access to them any time they want them and the parents encourage that. The more the kids play online, the less the parents have to keep track of them.
Even adults use gadgets more and more for their own entertainment. If I don't have something specific I need to do, I'm either reading a book on my phone or I'm talking on myLot.

@Shavkat I watch people playing video games online, too. As long as it's what people want to do and they can afford to live while doing things online, then I don't see a problem with it.

@DaddyEvil I was trying to find mobile games that my youngest brother can play and earn at the same time. I tought AXIE was a good one before but not now.

Engage the kids into a variety of activities such as reading, swimming, playing badminton/basketball/football, hiking, playing musical instruments and they won't be online all the time.

I believe the adults are equally to be blamed when half of their children's childhood is seeing their parents engaged (glued) to their mobile phones or tablets or iPads. Look around and I am sure you can pick up the habit yourself too.
Studies have revealed that the ideal age for them to be using these devices is after 9 years old but who heeded it. Now children are handed an old mobile phones instead of a lollipop or candy, television instead of playing games or taking them to a stroll or a sports event and an iPad instead of just having fun with a pet or toys.
When my kids were young I would simply buy as much toys to play with them and television is only available for their Sesame Street if they are obedient and very responsive with tidiness of their desks and bedrooms.
During their free time I would sign them up for swimming, basketball, martial arts and English classes to occupy their minds. So I think as adults and parents we have to be setting examples for our young futures.

Well the world we live is now demanding everyone be online.
It is sad to know that is all there is for them.
The way to get them off of online world is not clear as they are surrounded by it. Everywhere, all the time.
