The Dosa, South India's Universal Dish

There is one dish from South India that has now spread to the global stage. It is called a dosa and is made from rice batter. The batter is fried on a tawa( Skillet) and served with many innovations. The most popular is potato vegetable fried and coconut chutney and special curry. The dosa is now a universal dish and is available all over the world including in London and Southeast Asia. Many refinements have been perfected and it can be served with minced meat and chicken. I wonder how many have tasted this dish.

@ihasaquestion good question. One can only get it in a south indian restaurant. I wonder if you have one where you live.

It is made with rice flour, but it looks a lot like a French crêpe.

@madan02 I see that it's more crispy, crêpes are softer.

I'm sure it has all the ingredients to make itself so popular. In our local railway station market there are many roadside dosa counters and they are minting money every evening.
