Will I survive?

I definitely won't.
Saw this limited series on Netflix about a private plane crashing and there was a lone survivor. A woman. Alone in the middle of nowhere, she tried to find a way to get rescued.
If I was her, I wouldn't survive. I know nothing about surviving in the wilderness. But maybe I could too. Sometimes we say we couldn't but when we are in the situation already, we do things we never expect we are capable of.
Photo is of an amirugumi I made while watching the series.

I don’t know if many of us would actually survive such a situation, at least if it’s prolonged, but you’d be surprised at what we can accomplish when our survival instinct kicks in. We’d do better than we give ourselves credit for.
Love your amirugumi!

@moffittjc Don't worry, I won't be a burden. I could really help out like gather some woods, etc. And I will have a better chance at surviving with your company. Especially in the cold night. I don't know how to start a fire.

I do understand that you think you can't survive if that happens to you. That's negative. Transparently, I know for sure that even if you don't know some surviving skills, you'll get to know when you're there already.

If you know me you'd understand me. I am so used to the conveniences in life. I don't cook, don't do my laundry. I don't know how to start a fire without a lighter. I don't know how to fish. I cannot distinguish edible berries from non edibles ones.

I think a person might learn to adapt. I've lived on all sides of life's unbalanced scale. Had plenty, had enough, had little, and once, had just about nothing. I've had to do things I never thought I could do. I cook, I've done laundry forever and ever, if I can recall my scouting days, we even learned to start fires. I love to fish, I don't go often but I do enjoy it. I did also take a short survival class once, too, and I've taught myself to fix more things than I ever thought I could. Like I said, we just do what we have to do, you would, too.

Are you talking about Keep Breathing? It’s on my watch list but I haven’t got round to watching it yet. Looks like the female version of Castaway.
Humans have a great survival instinct, so you’d be surprised what you are capable of when called upon.
The show has been panned on IMDb but she looks cute so I’ll watch it.

It's not that really impressive but it's a short series and well I wanted how it would end. Even though I know she'll certainly survive.

@Orson_Kart That's too expensive. I only pay about $10 a month here. It's not really that great. Uncoupled is much better to watch but then with only 8 episodes, the ending is a cliff hanger. It's funny though.

@toniganzon There’s not a great choice in quality programmes right now so I’ll give it a go. I’m trying to binge-watch as much on Netflix as I can before I ditch it. £15.99 a month is something I might not be able to afford soon. Luxury item!

Your amirugumi certainly is cute.
That Netflix series sounds interesting and that would be a big fear of mine to be a lone survivor in a plane crash

Not that difficult to make and I'm a beginner. And it doesn't take much time too. Took me about two hours to finish this project and I'm super slow coz I'm following a YouTube tutorial.

@JudyEv i love stitching them up. They’re not small so it’s easy to do that. and it’s not too huge either so stuffing it takes only seconds.

@toniganzon There would be a certain amount of stitching it up then stuffing it and that would bug me.

Right. I would probably go too as I have no basic knowledge in survival at all. And it would be very difficult doing things all alone. And imagine if there were wild animals there.

That's true nobody goes learning survival skills because we never in our wildest dreams wish to be in any, it's good in pictures only not in reality

There are those who find it is fun. In fact it is their hubby to learn survival skills and would intentionally go into the wilderness.

Adrenaline and survival instinct is innate in human. But when you're alone in the wilderness with no knowledge of the basic survival it's hard to stay alive until rescue arrives. Especially when you're surrounded by wild animals, a freezing cold to beat but couldn't start a fire, no shelter, no food.

We won't know unless we are in such a position. We are sometimes surprised by the things we can do during difficult situations.
And your amirugumi is so pretty!

I think it would be very hard to be in those shoes. But I do know enough about many things that would be helpful. Anyone in this situation would be down to basics immediately, shelter, food and water, wood or brush to burn. If no source to start a fire, you would have to know how to do that, too. I am sure life would be a hard struggle to survive. There are some people who choose that lifestyle and live it, I am sure it's hard for many.
Like you said, many of us do things we never thought we were capable of doing.

I know survival instinct would kick in. But without the basic knowledge, it would be very difficult. I don't think I could last long enough to be rescued. Especially if it would take months for me to rescued.
